The Peace Museum is looking for help locating a historic poster originally printed by the Peace Pledge Union as part of their upcoming exhibition.

The museum, which explores the history and untold stories of peacemakers, reform and peace movements, has issued an appeal to all who may have information about the poster.

The museum hopes to acquire a copy so that they can permanently hold the poster in their collection and display it as part of an upcoming exhibition, ‘Pressing Matters’, which will explore the power of posters and printmaking.

The Peace Museum notes: “In 1940, six people were arrested and put on trial for displaying this poster. Suppressing dissent through censorship has deep historical roots, and it continues to be a reality for artists and activists today.”
