The Society for the Study of Labour History has halted its use of the X social media platform (formerly known as Twitter). We will, instead, focus social media efforts on Facebook and Bluesky, where the Society already has a significant presence.

The Society has published the statement below to the X account along with links to other places where we can be found online. The account will now not be further updated.

‘The Society for the Study of Labour History abhors the part played by X in promoting disinformation, racism and far right violence. We believe that our continued use of the platform is inconsistent with our values, and will not be posting further to this account.

‘We hope that you will join us in helping to build more positive online communities on other platforms.’
