A historian hoping to develop a research project is asking for help regarding British left-wing perspectives on the controversial seventeenth-century English military and political leader Oliver Cromwell.
His central question is: ‘Why is Oliver Cromwell not the British left’s George Washington?’
Why are continental revolutionary figures, such as Leon Trotsky and Rosa Luxemburg, so much more revered by comparison?
